Photo realistic rendering for free?
That sounds a bit too good to be true, and yet here we are.
With the Scene Exporter module, now standard in trinityjs, you can take a scene created in the browser that looks like this:

And turn it into this...

We work constantly to increase the rendering fidelity within the browser, but at the end of the day, if you want something resembling natural lighting, there is no alternative to raytracing. Blender, the free 3D editor includes an excellent raytracer called Cycles.
The scene above has simply been exported from the trinityjs client and imported directly into Blender, a background panorama added, (which also provides Image Based Lighting) and rendered using Cycles.
In the capable hands of a Blender artist, photo realistic renders can be produced, good enough to use in online campaigns, or even to provide extra product images for e-commerce.
